What is wireless technology?

Fixed wireless broadband (also known as wireless DSL) is an exciting technology that has undergone great technological improvements since its introduction to the market in the early 2000s. These days, wireless brings speeds as fast, or faster, than some ADSL2+ connections, and with lower latency. Good news is, wireless broadband can even be offered in places where ADSL2+ broadband is currently not available, or all the ports are taken. You don’t even need a phone line!

How does wireless work?

wireless

Fixed point wireless works by mounting an antenna at your address and positioning it towards the nearest NuSkope access point. A direct, secure connection is then established and configured for optimal performance by a NuSkope technician.

Why wireless?

ADSL

Most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) use telephone lines and modems to connect to the Internet. However, this may restricts your access to the length of your phone cable and, as a result, limits speeds to a slow analogue signal. NuSkope wireless uses the WDSL compatible standard, offering extensive cost savings in comparison to conventional cable services provided by many carriers.

No phone lines or cables!

ADSL

With wireless Internet you don’t need a phone line, and your speed is only limited by the distance from one of our towers and the plan you are connected with. Some of our customers have achieved speeds over 80Mbit/50mbit during our network testing.

What do I need to set up wireless?

ADSL

To achieve a wireless connection, NuSkope installs Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). This consists of a wireless adaptor and antenna installed to your house, and then connected to your computer or home/office network. Wireless units are compact and conform to all Australian safety regulations to ensure a strong, reliable signal. This results in providing a consistent and fast Internet connection.

Our wireless solution receives and transmits signals to NuSkope, providing you with high-speed Internet access with (potential) speeds up to 108Mbps – this is only limited by your chosen plan’s speed cap.

I Can’t Get Internet Cable Coverage – Can You Help Me With Wireless?

ADSL

NuSkope is well known for connecting small towns and communities. If there is enough demand in an area we will happily come out and build a small local tower (normally on a shop or factory roof). That will then provide our services to the surrounding area.

We are not a large Telco only in the business to make a massive profit! We only require five to eight names on a list for us to start considering the site. Feel free to contact us for more information. Our latest example is the small town of Stockport with 15 houses, 40+ kilometres from Adelaide; their only alternate options were a slow and expensive satellite service… or no Internet at all.

Now, thanks to NuSkope, customers are paying less than the average monthly Internet cost and achieving speeds faster than 97% of Australia.
